On 12–13 November 2009, Minsk will host the Belarusian Investment and Economic Forum. It will take place together with the 6th Plenary Session of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council under the Council of Ministers of Belarus chaired by the Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky.
The Forum is expected to gather not less than 500 people, with half of them representing foreign companies. The Belarusian Prime Minister will address the Forum with opening remarks.
The Forum is aimed to enlighten the business community from across the globe about all current processes in the liberalisation of our economy, as well as in encouraging favourable environment for international businesses and stimulating investment opportunities in Belarus. The Forum will also seek to boost investment co-operation between our and foreign businesses, with a string of major business projects to be showcased there.
The Programme of the Forum features discussions on such crucial issues as shooting up to the top 30 countries by easiness of doing business, evaluation of recent measures on improving our investment climate, prospects of closer co-operation between Belarus and the European Union, leverage of our scientific potential to help attract more investments, etc.
The Forum will also include thematic round tables and section-divided discussions to talk over privatisation in Belarus, Belarusian small and medium-sized businesses, domestic financial market, infrastructure, free economic zones, etc.
The Forum will see participation of high-level representatives of the relevant ministries and bodies of Belarus, UN system agencies and a number of large international and European companies.

If you are a journalist and wish to cover all major events during the Forum, including the plenary meeting, thematic round tables, section discussions and press conferences, you need to get a temporary media accreditation.
For that, the following documents should be filed to the Foreign Ministry:
- a written request signed by a mass media chief for accreditation of a journalist wishing to work in Belarus. The request should indicate first and family names, citizenship, date of birth, passport number, issue and expiration date, desired duration of accreditation, diplomatic mission where a journalist intends to receive an entry visa, purposes of the visit.
- Standard application form completed personally by a journalist to be accredited.
- Two photos of a journalist to be accredited (3х4 cm).

Decision on temporary accreditation shall be taken by the Foreign Ministry within 20 days from the date of the application's receipt.
